One of the most versatile musicians ever is Lavelle, who hails from Chicago. She lived and performed in Paris for years, until she moved to St. Cergue, Switzerland, an hour east of Geneva. Lavelle has toured throughout the world bringing her brand of gospel, blues, jazz and R&B. Her musicianship is incomparable. Her mentor, Dorothy Donegan takes credit for encouraging Lavelle to be a pianist, rather than just a singer.
