IF I COULD WRITE A SONG OF YOU
Music and Lyrics by Joan Cartwright

If I could write a song of you
It never could be blue
It would be a kind of spring song
That makes you want to sing along

It would be a snappy tune
That makes you think of June
When everyone is out having fun

It might be a hit song
The kind you hear about
When you're feeling sprite and hip
And you're out on the town
It would be a grand ole rhyme

Moving right in time
And it would say,
"Gee, Baby, but you're good to me!"

I could sing it soft or loud
It really wouldn't matter
Even a capella if I choose to

I could use response and call
Eliminate the chatter
The melody would rock
We'd be having a ball
(Instrument repeats last two melodic lines)

If I could write a song of you
That never could be blue
It would have to be a fast song
The kind of shake-your-ass song
To make you move
And jump in the groove
'Cause that's what you do to me
Oh, yeah, that is what you do to me!
