Ladies and Gents,

Send Jay your CDs. He'll play them!

Joan,

Thanks for the article on these lovely ladies  of song. You are the only person I know that truly keeps the lives of female instrumentalists, composers, vocalists and others in print. If they send me music, I'll make sure they are featured on my show and other radio shows.

SIBONGILE KHUMALO

On January 23, I had the pleasure of attending the concert of Hugh Masekela and the Chissa All-Star Touring Party in Fort Lauderdale. There, I met the extraordinary South African Diva Sibongile Khumalo who sang up a storm at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. I'm hoping she'll record my song A Woman Knows. Read about her in my article in the SOUTH FLORIDA TIMES.

JUS' CYNTHIA

Featured in February 2007, Jus' Cynthia looks like a Diva, surrounded by her new Thai friends in Bangkok, where she performed for four months, last year, at the Oriental Mandarin Hotel.

Now, she's adorning the stage in Manila, Philippines. Read Cynthia's journals and see more photos at this link.

DIVA JC UPDATE

On January 18, 2008, Joan Cartwright was laid off from her job as Music teacher due to "low enrollment." As always, she's back to being a Musician looking for a gig! Her life is in the hands of her Mighty I AM Presence.

On January 30, Joan taught a class on Women Writers at Florida International University for her friend, Dr. Carole Boyce-Davies. The class must have been a great success because it ran from 5:00 to 7:40 p.m. and at 8:00 p.m. Joan and the students were still in discussion!
