Marsha Rose is a virtuosa pianist. She is a consummate professional born and raised in Hawaii. She studied at Interlochen Arts Academy, North Carolina School of the Arts and California Institute of the Arts. South Florida has been her base for 15 years, where she teaches and performs on the local scene with much acclaim. Marsha plays solo piano at the Diplomat Country Club, in Hallandale and Wellington’s Binks Forest Country Club, in Palm Beach County.

Marsha accompanied Diva Joan Cartwright in her Women in Jazz Presentation at Florida International University in Miami. Also, she was featured at Old Dillard Museum, in Fort Lauderdale, during the 2001 Women in Jazz Festival.

Marsha made her transition on Friday, May 27, 2005, after a long fight with leukemia. We are ever grateful to her mother and brothers and, especially, Bruce Scott, founder of HEAT BEAT MAGAZINE, who cared for Marsha during her infirmity.

Pianist Marsha Rose Pobanz passed away Friday morning (May 27) after a tough year-and-half battle with leukemia. Marsha was a consummate professional who was born and raised in the beautiful state of Hawaii. Her formative years were spent studying at the Interlochen Arts Academy, North Carolina School of the Arts and the California Institute of the Arts. South Florida has been her base for the past 25 years where she has taught and performed on the local scene with much acclaim. Marsha was also a writer for the original Heat Beat magazine. A memorial service for Marsha is being planned and will be announced shortly.
